Marble
Verde Alpi
Code · VAL-107
A nearly black forest-green ground is crossed diagonally by sharp white veins, while occasional light-green clouds add depth to the surface. With its dark, dramatic tones, it is among the best-known classic Italian green marbles.
Verde Alpi is quarried in the Aosta Valley in northern Italy. Geologically, it is serpentinite, though it is known commercially as green marble. Its color comes from the serpentine minerals in its composition.
It can be used for wall cladding, flooring, bathrooms, fireplaces, stairs, and furniture surfaces. As serpentinite requires care on large surfaces exposed to moisture, choosing suitable adhesives and sealants is recommended.
